Bergevin has a different approach and personality than Hextall, but one school of thought was that he could provide another view from outside the organization’s comfort zone, having had a long tenure in the Eastern Conference. One another potential benefit is that he holds no ties or particular allegiances to any of the young prospects in the system and can perhaps evaluate them with a more objective eye.
