- Alors que Bo Horvat est le PLAN A de l'Avalanche du Colorado...

- Et Ryan O'Reilly le PLAN B...

- Les médias de Denver affirment qu'un Christian Dvorak ou un Sean Monahan est plus réaliste...

Though a Bo Horvat-level addition would be more than welcome to the Avalanche lineup, they don’t necessarily need to add a sexy name. They missed out on the big fish — Claude Giroux— at last year’s deadline but added Lehkonen, who fit perfectly with their system and scored gigantic goals en route to last year’s Stanley Cup win. He has continued his strong play this season. The Athletic

But whether it’s an established player in Horvat or a lesser-known player, Colorado likely needs another piece to round out the middle-six forward group. The most obvious fit would be a second-line center — someone like Horvat — to replace Nazem Kadri, who left in free agency this past summer.

Second-line centers are expensive, though, and Colorado depleted its pool of trade chips over the previous offseasons and trade deadlines. Acquiring a Horvat or Ryan O’Reilly-level player might mean mortgaging more of the future than MacFarland is comfortable with. So if that price is too steep, Colorado could look for a middle-six winger like Christian Dvorak or Sean Monahan (Montreal)
